Teardrop Pearl Hoop Earrings · Silver

Pearls were the first gems ever worn, needing no cutting, and Roman law once reserved them for the ruling class. The pearl is a creamy white with a soft lustre, cooler beside silver. Here a small teardrop pearl hangs at the base of a hand-hammered open hoop, so the pearl sits below the lobe and the hoop frames it.

Reach for it when you want a hoop and a pearl in one earring. The pearl swings inside the curve as you turn your head. Hoop, with a pearl beneath it.

• Teardrop pearl framed by a hammered hoop
• Hammered surface breaks light the whole way round
• Smooth push-back post, steady all day

Handcrafted by master silversmiths in Protsaah's own workshop in Jaipur, where every maker is paid 30 to 40% above the local market rate.

A white pearl works on every skin tone, eye colour and hair colour, because it adds light rather than colour, and the metal around it sets the temperature. It is the piece to reach for when the outfit already has its colour.

If you want colour, the same design comes in every coloured stone in the collection. Not sure? Write to us at hello@protsaah.com and Salonie will recommend your stone personally.
