Smoky quartz is the cairngorm of the Scottish Highlands, cut for kilt pins and brooches since the eighteenth century. It is a warm brown, somewhere between dark honey and woodsmoke. Here a faceted smoky quartz teardrop sits in a slim gold bezel and hangs from a plain wire hook, so it swings as you move without a sound.
