Carnelian Hammered Teardrop Statement Earrings · Gold

Carnelian was the signet stone of Rome because hot wax does not stick to it. It is a warm burnt orange, amber-toned, translucent, with light in it. Here a smooth carnelian bead hangs inside a hand-hammered open teardrop frame in gold on a push-back post, so the frame catches light around the stone.

Reach for it when you want a statement that is still quiet. The beaten frame does the shining, and inside it the burnt orange lifts navy and denim. Burnt orange inside a beaten frame.

• Burnt orange that lifts navy and denim
• Beaten frame that does the shining
• Push-back post, lighter than it looks

Handcrafted by master silversmiths in Protsaah's own workshop in Jaipur, where every maker is paid 30 to 40% above the local market rate.

Carnelian is a warm orange that sits closest to warm or olive skin and picks up brown and hazel eyes, where it reads as a brighter note of the same warmth. Dark and auburn hair hold the colour best.

For cool or fair tones, iolite or amazonite in the same hammered teardrop statement earring gives the same presence in a cooler key. Not sure? Write to us at hello@protsaah.com and Salonie will recommend your stone personally.
