Nephrite Jade Bead Pendant Necklace · Gold

Jade has been carved in China for five thousand years, and nephrite was the stone of the imperial workshops. It is a pale apple green, mottled with lighter cloudy patches, with a waxy lustre. Here a smooth nephrite jade bead hangs straight from a fine cable chain on a single jump ring, nothing between the stone and the skin.

Reach for it when you want the stone and nothing else. No bezel, no frame, the bead sits on the skin and the clouded green stays calm, never bright. Soft green on a bare chain.

• Calm apple green that flatters warm and neutral skin
• No bezel, the stone sits on the skin
• Bead centres itself as you move

Handcrafted by master silversmiths in Protsaah's own workshop in Jaipur, where every maker is paid 30 to 40% above the local market rate.

Nephrite jade is a warm, soft green that sits closest to warm or neutral skin and picks up brown, hazel and green eyes, where it reads as a quieter note of the iris. Dark brown, auburn and black hair give it contrast.

For cool or fair tones, amazonite or blue topaz in the same bead pendant carries the same calm in a cooler key. Not sure? Write to us at hello@protsaah.com and Salonie will recommend your stone personally.
