Labradorite takes its name from Labrador, where Moravian missionaries recorded it in 1770. In silver it reads closer to slate, the blue flash sitting deep inside. Here a smooth labradorite bead hangs inside a hand-hammered open teardrop frame in silver on a push-back post, so the frame catches light around the stone.
