Topaz takes its name from Topazios, an island in the Red Sea. Blue topaz is a bright clear sky blue, transparent, icy and bright in silver. Here a hexagon-cut blue topaz is held by six small silver claws at the centre of a band of open hexagons, the honeycomb running the whole way round the finger.

Blue topaz is a cool, clear blue that sits best on cool or fair skin and picks up blue, grey and green eyes, where it reads as a brighter echo of the iris. Blonde, ash blonde and silver hair keep the pairing crisp.
