Labradorite takes its name from Labrador, where Moravian missionaries recorded it in 1770. It reads grey-blue, with a teal and bronze flash that moves with the angle. Here a hexagon-cut labradorite is held by six small gold claws at the centre of a band of open hexagons, the honeycomb running the whole way round the finger.

Reach for it when you want a stone set inside a pattern rather than standing alone. The cut-outs keep the band light, and the flash comes and goes as it moves. Grey-blue, set in honeycomb.

Labradorite is a neutral stone, so it sits well on most skin tones and picks up hazel, grey and green eyes, where the blue flash reads as an echo of the iris. Dark brown and cool brunette hair frame the grey base best.
