Labradorite takes its name from Labrador, where Moravian missionaries recorded it in 1770. It reads grey-blue, with a teal and bronze flash that moves with the angle. Here a labradorite is cut as a pyramid, four triangular facets rising to a point, set in an open-backed collet above three cascading open kite frames in hand-brushed gold.

Reach for it when you want an art deco line rather than a round drop. The frames narrow as they fall, so the eye travels down. Pyramid above, kites below.

Labradorite is a neutral stone, so it sits well on most skin tones and picks up hazel, grey and green eyes, where the blue flash reads as an echo of the iris. Dark brown and cool brunette hair frame the grey base best.
