Labradorite takes its name from Labrador, where Moravian missionaries recorded it in 1770. It reads grey-blue, with a teal and bronze flash that moves with the angle. Here a kite-cut labradorite, an elongated four-sided stone, hangs from a fine gold chain that threads through the ear, wire-wrapped at the drill hole.

Reach for it when you want length without weight. Pull the chain through to set the drop where you want it, high behind or low in front. Threads through, sits where you leave it.

Labradorite is a neutral stone, so it sits well on most skin tones and picks up hazel, grey and green eyes, where the blue flash reads as an echo of the iris. Dark brown and cool brunette hair frame the grey base best.
