Labradorite Crown Stud Earrings · Gold

Labradorite takes its name from Labrador, where Moravian missionaries recorded it in 1770. Its flash of blue and gold comes from light bending between thin layers inside the crystal, so every stone carries its own pattern. Here the round faceted labradorite sits in a multi-prong gold crown, its wall pierced into small arches under a beaded rim.

Reach for it when you want one pair that reads differently at breakfast and at dinner. Face on it is a grey-blue sheen, and as you turn your head it flares teal, then bronze. Grey until the light moves.

Labradorite is a neutral stone, so it sits well on most skin tones and picks up hazel, grey and green eyes, where the blue flash reads as an echo of the iris. Dark brown and cool brunette hair frame the grey base best.
