Amazonite takes its name from the Amazon, though it has never been found there, and Egyptian goldsmiths set it in Tutankhamun's jewellery. The stone is a cool blue-green, opaque, with white veining. Here a brushed gold square holds the lobe and a large cushion-cut amazonite hangs below on a jump ring, faceted on both faces.

Amazonite is a cool blue-green that sits closest to cool or fair skin and picks up blue, grey and green eyes, where it reads as a softer echo of the iris. Ash blonde and cool brunette hair keep it crisp.
